This article provides information about suspending and unsuspending accounts in the Web Host Manager (WHM). As a reseller, you need to be aware of this process in case you have to suspend or unsuspended an account.
You might have to suspend an account because of any of these reasons:
- The account has exceeded the bandwidth limit.
- The customer has not paid for the services on time.
- The customer has violated any of the terms of service.
Suspending An Account
When you suspend some account, the website of this account will no longer be live on the internet. Instead of the website, the visitors will be shown a suspended account page. The customers whose accounts are suspended are not able to access their accounts through FTP, SSH or cPanel.
You need to follow the steps mentioned below for suspending an account:
- In the search box present on the upper left corner of the WHM screen, you can type ‘suspension’ and then click on the option – ‘Manage Account Suspension’ when this option becomes visible.
- In order to provide a reason for suspension, enter the reason in the text box – ‘Reason (if suspending)’.
- Select the account that you wish to suspend and then click on ‘Suspend’.
Unsuspending An Account
When the issues that lead to the account suspension are resolved, the account can be unsuspended. For doing this, you need to follow the steps mentioned below:
- In the search box present on the upper left corner of the WHM screen, you can type ‘suspension’ and then click on the option – ‘Manage Account Suspension’ when this option becomes visible.
- Select the account that you wish to unsuspended and then click on ‘Unsuspended’. (If you might have suspended any accounts earlier, they will be shown in red).
Viewing A List Of Suspended Accounts
In order to get a list of all the suspended accounts, follow the steps mentioned below:
- In the search box present on the upper left corner of the WHM screen, you can type ‘suspension’ and then click on the option – ‘List Suspended Accounts’ when this option becomes visible.
Personalizing The Suspended Accounts Page
You can personalize the page that is displayed to your visitors when they view the website of a suspended account. For doing this, follow the steps mentioned below:
- In the search box present on the upper left corner of the WHM screen, you can type ‘template’ and then click on the option – ‘Web Template Editor’ when this option becomes visible.
- On the page of ‘Web Template Editor’, click on the ‘Account Suspension’ tab.
You can personalize the suspended account page:
- You can edit the HTML code directly. When you are done editing, click on ‘Save’.
- Alternatively, if you have made your own suspended account page, you can easily upload it. For this, click on ‘Browse’, look for the file on your local computer and click on ‘Upload Template’.
