This article describes the procedure of installing the ecommerce platform – Zen Cart through Softaculous. Refer to the steps given below:
- Login to cPanel.
- Go to the ‘Softaculous Apps Installer’ on the home page and click on any of the options under the Categories section. This will display the Softaculous Installer page.
- In the Search box, enter Zen Cart and press enter. You can also use the navigation pane present on the left side >> click on E-Commerce and then click on Zen Cart.
- Click on the ‘Install’ option and the Installation process will start.
- You will have to select the appropriate protocol in the choose protocol list box. In case you have an SSL certificate installed on your website, you have to select https:// or https://www and if you do not have an SSL certificate installed on your website, you will have to select http:// or http://www
- In the ‘Choose Domain’ list, select the domain where you would like to install Zen Cart or accept the default value.
- In the ‘Directory’ text box, enter the name of the directory where you want to install the application or accept the default value.
- In the ‘Store Name’ text box, enter the name of the store.
- In the ‘Store Owner’ text box, enter the name of the store owner.
- In the ‘Store Address’ text box, enter the physical address of the store.
- In the ‘Admin Username’ text box, enter the administrator username.
- In the ‘Admin Password’ text box, enter the administrator password.
- In the ‘Admin Email’ text box, enter the email address of the website administrator.
- Expand the ‘Advanced Options’ section.
- In the ‘Database Name’ text box, enter the name of the database for creating the application or accept the default value.
- In the ‘Table Prefix’ text box, enter the name of the database table prefix, or accept the default value.
- If you don’t wish to receive any email notifications when the updates to your Zen Cart application are available, check the ‘Disable Update Notifications’ check box.
- In the ‘Backup Location’ list box, you can choose a location for the store application backups.
- In the ‘Automated Backups’ list box, you can choose whether Softaculous can make periodic backups to your application or not.
- In the ‘Backup Rotation’ list box, you can choose how often Softaculous can overwrite the oldest backup file with the latest one.
- For receiving website configuration information after the completion of the installation process, enter an email address in the section – ‘Email installation details to’ text box.
- Review all the installation settings and options once again and click on ‘Install’. When the installation process gets completed, Softaculous will provide complete information about the Zen Cart application’s configuration.
