You can easily install AbanteCart through the Softaculous app installer present in cPanel. Here are the steps:
- Login to cPanel.
- In the ‘Software’ section, click on ‘Softaculous App Installer’.
- You might see AbanteCart featured in the list of scripts in Softaculous. If you don’t you can search for AbanteCart in the search box.
- Go to E-Commerce >> AbanteCart.
- Click on ‘Install Now’ for proceeding.
- The ‘Software Setup’ page will be displayed that is used for performing the installation.
- Click on the dropdown menu present next to ‘Choose Protocol’ in order to select the HTTP protocol for your website or store.
- In case you have an SSL certificate installed on your server, you must select https:// or https://www .
- Go to the ‘Choose Domain’ drop down menu to select the domain or sub-domain for which the AbanteCart installation has to be made.
- The ‘In Directory’ field is blank by default which means that your application will be installed to the root of your domain or sub-domain. In case you want to install AbanteCart in a sub-folder, you must enter the name of the folder in this field.
- In the ‘Site Settings’ section, enter the Admin Folder name, which will be used for accessing the admin pages of AbanteCart. It is ideal to come up with some original folder name instead of using ‘Admin’ as the name for enhancing the security of your store.
- Proceed further and add an Admin Username, password and Admin Email in the admin account section. You can click on the key icon present next to the Admin password text box for generating a random and strong password.
- Softaculous will by default create a database for using with AbanteCart during the process of installation. If you wish to modify the options like Database Name, Table Prefix and Backup Location, you can do so through Advanced Options.
- Once you have configured all the options, you can click on the ‘Install’ option to proceed. However, before doing that, you need to enter the email address so that complete installation details are emailed to you.
The AbanteCart software will be installed in a short span of time and once the installation process is complete, a welcome message will be displayed on the screen featuring your administration details.
