The ‘501 Too Many Syntax or Protocol Errors’ frequently disrupts server activities and can leave users looking for an appropriate solution. This error is usually known as 501 errors and often emerges when a server is unable to process a request as a result of syntax errors or violation of protocols.
Another error that is closely resembling this is a 501-gateway timeout, which happens if the server does not respond within a specific period. These are mostly translated as 501 protocol errors, and they arise from an invalid request or bad configuration. The understanding and correction of damage caused by 501 too many syntax or protocol errors would have improved the operational performance highly without any little disturbance caused by these types of technical glitches.
Task ‘Mailer – Sending’ reported error (0x800CCC0F) : ‘The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or ISP. The server responded: 501 Too many syntax or protocol errors’
When sending emails using outlook you might receive the error above. It seems that when you copy & paste the email addresses into the To field, they include quotations around them that the server did not know how to handle (i.e. ‘name@website.com’ instead of just name@website.com). Remove the quotations & then try sending emails. They will work.
