By default OpenCart uses PHP mail() function to send emails from the dashboard. This is a great in built feature that helps you to send emails to your clients/porspects about your new products, offers, promotions etc. To improve the email delivery, you should consider setting up SMTP for all the outgoing emails. SMTP would greatly improve the email delivery and minimize bounce rate of your important emails.
To configure SMTP settings, login to the OpenCart admin dashboard and follow the below steps:
Step 1: Go to Settings section from the main menu.
Step 2: Click Edit button and navigate to the Mail tab.
Step 3: Change the Mail Protocol from Mail to SMTP.
Fill the following details:
SMTP Host:
SMTP Username:
SMTP Password:
SMTP Port:
SMTP Timeout:
Save the mail settings and test the outgoing emails.
