In order to setup SEO URLs in Opencart, there are a couple of things that you need to do which is mentioned below:-
- The first step is to login via FTP with your FTP Client of choice and navigate to the root folder (public_html for many of our hosting clients) and make sure that you’re able to view ‘invisible files). Locate the file called .htaccess.txt and rename it to .htaccess (remove .txt).
- Next, Login to your Opencart admin and navigate to system –>> settings –>> edit and click the ‘server’ tab. Select the radio button to enable SEO URLs and click the ‘save’ button.
- In order to test this, assign an SEO URL to any one of your products under the data tab and save it. Then visit the catalog side of your website and load that product (either type the address in directly or find it within your categories).
